Junior Marine Operations Assistant
Do you stay calm under pressure and thrive in a fast moving environment? Do you get a kick out of organizing, juggling priorities, and dealing with all kinds of people? If you want a varied role in the maritime world, one that could set the foundation for the rest of your career, you might be the Ship’s Agent / Junior Marine Operations Assistant we’re looking for.
You’ll join our agency and logistics team, a group of specialists who genuinely enjoy what they do. In this role you support the daily operations around incoming and departing vessels, always with a personal, service first approach. You make sure everything around a ship’s port call gets arranged efficiently and on time.
Your responsibilities include:
- Coordinating the daily processes around a vessel’s port call and stay.
- Handling customs and immigration formalities.
- Preparing and processing customs documentation.
- Liaising with clients, ship’s crew, customs, the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, and pilotage services.
- Organizing the loading and unloading of vessels.
- Arranging transport and hotel accommodation for crew.
- Managing the storage, transport, and delivery of ship supplies.
- Taking shifts outside office hours.
You’ll also support our Vessel Managers and Marine Operations Managers as needed, working on both our own vessels and those under our management. That means broad, hands on experience across every part of maritime services.
No two days look alike. You’ll switch quickly between tasks, keep the bigger picture in view, and work with your team to make sure clients and vessels get the support they need. Shipping runs 24/7, and so do we, which means you’ll take your share of shifts outside regular hours alongside your colleagues. It asks for flexibility and responsibility, but it also puts you right at the heart of the action.
