Pipe spoolbase in Velsen.
Serimax has begun to weld 2" linepipe together on the Grote Hout base in Velsen Noord. Once welded, the linepipe is spooled onto an enormous reel. To achieve that, Serimax built a "welding street" on the yard. With the linepipe spooled on, the weight of the reel will be 340 tonnes. Subsea 7's Acergy Falcon is expected to arrive on the 1st of April to take the reel on board and then lay the pipe for Wintershall.
