Titan cuts off bow of Vinca Gorthon

After a long preparation period, Titan Salvage succeeded in cutting off the first piece of the Vinca Gorthon at the first attempt. The bow came off after 15 hours of chain sawing. The wreck of the Vinca Gorthon rests on the seabed 16 miles west of Petten at a depth of 24 mtrs since 1988. The salvage barges Karlissa A & B, placed on each side of the wreck, will now be repositioned to allow the start of the second cutting. The pieces of wreckage will be loaded on the barge 408 and brought ashore in Vlissingen.
